Tonalité : A minor
Verse 1
Am
Santa's
Christmas
Wish
F
Am
In a snowy country far away,
near a red and sleek and shiny sleigh,
F
is a cottage all covered in snow.
G
Am
Who lives inside? I think you know.
C
Ho, ho, ho!
Am
Yes, it's where
G
Santa lives.
C
You've seen the presents that he gives.
F
Dm
G
Every year he brings kids special things and
Em
stuffs them in stockings tied with string.
Am
But one
G
C
Christmas did not go like that.
F
Em
Santa lay in bed, wearing his hat.
Dm
Sniff!
Em
He was snuffling and sneezing,
F
G
and outside it was dark and freezing.
Em
Am
Oh, I've got the worst cold,
G
Santa said.
He put his hand to his sore old head.
Dm
Am
I simply can't make presents this year.
Dm
C
G
And then he shed a great big tear.
Am
Dm
What shall I do?
C
Dm
Em
He said to his elves,
G
who'd been busy stacking shells.
Em
Dm
C
Oh dear, said little elf
Boo
Boo.
Em
Dm
We just can't deliver them
Am
without you.
Dm
They tried to think of another
G
way that they could save
Christmas
Dm
Day.
G
But nothing could be done at all.
Dm
The elves began to cry and bawl.
G
We'll have to tell them,
Em
Santa said then.
G
So he wrote to the children whilst
Dm
in bed that poor
G
Em
Santa had a bad shiver an
Am
Dm
Am
d no presents would he deliver.
C
G
George lived on a street far
Dm
away and read
G
Santa's letter the next day.
F
Next door so did little
Dm
Mary too.
G
C
Ray read his then and so did
Sue.
George called his friends outside.
Em
C
Have you read this? he sighed.
Em
No presents.
Poor
Dm
Santa, said
Sue.
He must be feeling really blue.
Em
Dm
The children all felt a bit glum that
G
Dm
Am
Santa was sick and wouldn't come.
G
Em
Just then
G
George had a great idea of how
to bring some
C
Christmas cheer.
Em
I know!
C
To cheer him up,
let's send something to
G
Dm
Santa, our good friend, kind
George said to the others.
F
G
Yay, let's make presents, said
Ray.
C
Dm
So they all spent the rest of the day painting
Em
pictures and making things.
They wrapped them up with sparkly strings.
C
Mary painted
Dm
Santa a snowy scene,
Sue wrote a story about a queen,
F
Ray made a reindeer
out of a box, and
Dm
G
George knitted a pair of socks.
C
They gave themselves a toast and popped the presents in the post,
Dm
all addressed to
Santa
at the
North
Em
Pole.
F
Hooray!
They had achieved their goal.
Christmas morning,
Am
Santa awoke.
Sniff!
G
F
With a cough and a croak.
Em
But all around him
were
Dm
Christmas gifts.
Em
Straight away,
F
his spirits did lift.
G
Ho, ho, ho!
I can't believe it!
Old
C
Santa said.
He jumped for joy
G
in his hat so red.
F
G
C
Bright magic lights appeared in the sky,
C
and the happy children knew just why.
