bank of the
Tennessee
River
In a small
Kentucky town
I drew my first breath one cold
November morning and before my
feet even touched the ground
With the doctors and the nurses gathered
around I started to dance, yeah
I started to dance, yeah
A little boy full of
white -eyed wonder
Pulled loose and finds it free
But what happened,
that's it done for every dancer
That I'd stumble on a
truth I couldn't see
And find a longing deep inside me,
yeah
Saying I am the heart,
I need the heartbeat I'm the eyes, I need the sight
I see clearly, I am just a body I need the life,
I float my feet
Go through the mountains
Who gives purpose to chance?
I am the dancer,
I need the lord of the dance
Yeah, yeah
Yeah.
All right.
That's chapter one.
Now here's chapter two.
Well, I was eight years old
when I decided to follow
Jesus.
Yeah.
I started down that road.
Somebody told me that this path
that leads to heaven is
They said it will not be an easy way,
but I found that to be true
Yeah, but I also found, yeah
I found out there's no bet
ter place on earth
Than the road that leads to heaven
No other place I'd rather be, yeah
No better place on earth
And the road that leads to heaven
No better place to be
Well I know this road we travel on
Is very straight and narrow
But I've looked down other roads
Along the way
From all I've seen
And I can say without a doubt there's
no better place on earth
