Tonalité : E minor
Verse 1
C#m
So yeah, this album
is some of my favorite songs
recorded in my earlier beginnings.
Caliban was actually produced
by my homeboy Chacho.
I came into possession of the beat
when I purchased one
of his old drum machines
at the musician's pawn shop
and I recognized some of the beats
that were still on there.
G#
So I gave him a call
B#
F#
and he was like, it's all good homie, you know,
Dbm
go ahead, I can have all the beats on there.
C
Ab
Bb
I found the Caliban beat on there
C
an d I was like, wow, you know,
Ab
C
F
Me and AK must have
Gm
knocked that song out
C
in about 20 or 30 minutes
Ab
at my mom's pad
C
Ab
Bb
I wanted to save the re cord
F
Gm
Ab
for my next album
C
because 16 shots was
already in the final stages
Ab
Bb
F
But I ended up putting
Gm
it on the PB K album
Ab
cuz I knew it was gonna be a high record
C
Ab
A lot of people still talking about it
F
C
and playing that song to this day
Click like that.
B
C
It's one of those earlier songs.
I recorded which at the time
I was barely making a transition
from a 4 -track studio cassette tape
up at the college
to getting my own home -based
computer and equipment.
So I had the original 4 -track session
Em
by me, Celis, and Young Skrilla,
C
but the overall quality was so poor,
you know what saying?
I just began to rebuild the whole song
Em
C
with C -Limb.
I still have one of Celis's original verses
Em
C
from the 4 -track,
Em
but the overall sound qual
C
ity was still lacking,
in my opinion.
Em
C
Em
So once I got better equipment,
C
Am
B
C
B
I said, fuck it, I made a whole new beat,
B#
B
then me, Celis and Dub,
B#
B
C
B
we did all new verses
C
Am
an d we kept CLM's
B
Am
original verse,
B
eventually Dub's young
Am
C
er brother Endo
ended up on the track as well.
B
D
Am
C
This version of Sky to the Sea
B
Bm
is the actual original version,
D
C
B
also recorded at my mom's pad,
Bm
C
CLM chose the beat,
but it was unfinished,
B
Bm
B
C
he didn't care though,
Am
so we all laid down verses
Bm
D
C
right there on the spot,
I never finished the beat
B
Bm
D
Am
be cause I just didn't find
C
the right sound i was looking for
B
D
C
so i ended up having another producer
make a whole new beat
Am
F
which i ended up putting uh keyloom
Am
G#
and p -dash on there
Am
because i couldn't access
G#
some of the original verses
Am
F
that were originally recorded
Am
G#
i was using some dif
ferent software at the time
Am
G#
Am
and it was just a huge hassle to
G#
Am
have to extract all the files
F
to the newer software
Ab
needless to say
Am
Ab
Am
here it is almost 20 years later
deadly disciples
was the title i came up with
C
based on the idea of Armageddon,
Revelations,
C
The Four Horsemen.
I made the beat,
and my girlfriend at the time,
who was one of my biggest fin
C
ancial investors,
she believed in me so much,
she proposed the idea
C
of getting X -Rated on a song.
X -Rated was working with some
very close friends of ours,
so I made the phone call,
she put up the money,
and we got the vocals.
The original version
C
actually went on a compilation,
so I did a separate version
C
for my album
with Young Droop and Chaos
the Assassin,
C
because I wanted to keep the song short,
C
an d hit people with something new
and unexpected me drooping chaos
we actually became good friends
after doing this track
and my mom's pattern
Salinas rest in peace to chaos the assassin
and shout out to stone cold
Outro 1
and the whole Bradford family
